Bend March Dinner Party: "Start Here, Instructions for Becoming A Better Cook"!
Join us for our March Bend Dinner Party hosted by Flights Wine Bar! We will be cooking from Sohla El-Waylly’s debut cookbook, ”Start Here: Instructions for Becoming a Better Cook”!
Sohla El-Waylly is a shining star in the cooking education world - I first fell in love with her wit, charm, and unique teaching style that is both meticulous but easy to learn from when she was on Bon Appetit’s YouTube channel. Since leaving Bon Appetit in 2020, she has been bringing that wonderful approach to cooking to all sorts of channels - including her own show with her chef husband, Ham - and has been writing killer recipes at the same time. I can already tell her debut cookbook is going to be a staple in my kitchen for decades to come. The 578-page book features Sohla’s relatable voice teaching key cooking techniques as applied to fantastic recipes. I think it will become a reference in every cook’s kitchen, no matter how experienced. I am especially excited to cook through this book together!
How Jill’s Cookbook Club Dinner Works:
Step #1: Pick a Recipe! You don’t need to buy the book to participate. First dibs on recipes goes to folks that come to the Planning Happy Hour, where there will be several copies of the book to select your recipe. After the Planning Happy Hour, the “Dinner Menu” will be emailed out to everyone who has registered for the dinner - and it will have links to available recipes and a sign-up sheet for you to select the one that calls to you!
Step #2: Come to the Dinner! You do not need to bring silverware or plates - just bring your dish as-written and whatever utensil you need to serve it!
Step #3: Have FUN and enjoy a truly absurd amount of delicious food while hanging with fellow food lovers! Beverages (including amazing wine) will be available for purchase.
When: Sunday March 24th, 6 - 8pm - we will be dishing up at 6:15pm sharp!
Where: Flights Wine Bar, 1444 NW College Way, Bend, OR 97703
The dinner is $25/per person. Please register and pay in advance below - space is limited to 40 people! If you’d like to buy the book (not required to participate!) we recommend ordering from Roundabout Books - you can do so on their website or by giving them a call!
