Bend April Dinner Party: "From Starter to Finish"
Join us for our Bend April Dinner Party hosted by Flights Wine Bar! We will be cooking from La Brea Bakery’s cookbook, “From Starter to Finish: Sourdough Breadmaking and Culinary Inspirations”!
La Brea Bakery bread has been my go-to for decades - growing up, I would specifically go to the Safeway that sold La Brea Bakery bread to get their Roasted Garlic and Rosemary Olive Oil loaves for various recipes. I am thrilled that La Brea Bakery has released a cookbook - From Starter to Finish: Sourdough Breadmaking and Culinary Inspirations - that provides wonderful, simple recipes incorporating La Brea Bakery bread.
For those unfamiliar with La Brea Bakery, it started in Los Angeles in 1989 - leading the artisan bread movement with its iconic sourdough starter. It has since grown to grace the tables of both homes and restaurants throughout the company. From Starter to Finish is designed for both seasoned and aspiring home bakers and chefs - perfect for Jill’s Cookbook Club - and I am very excited to cook through it and literally break bread together in April! I had the opportunity to interview Jon Davis from La Brea Bakery - to learn more about the book, give it a watch here: https://www.youtube.com/@JillsCookbookClub
How Jill’s Cookbook Club Dinner Party Works:
Step #1: Pick a Recipe! You don’t need to buy the book to participate. First dibs on recipes goes to folks that come to the Planning Happy Hour, where there will be several copies of the book to select your recipe. After the Planning Happy Hour, the “Dinner Menu” will be emailed out to everyone who has registered for the dinner - and it will have links to available recipes and a sign-up sheet for you to select the one that calls to you!
Step #2: Come to the Dinner! You do not need to bring silverware or plates - just bring your dish as-written and whatever utensil you need to serve it!
Step #3: Have FUN and enjoy a truly absurd amount of delicious food while hanging with fellow food lovers! Beverages (including amazing wine) will be available for purchase.
When: Sunday April 21st, 6 - 8pm - we will be dishing up at 6:15pm sharp!
Where: Flights Wine Bar, 1444 NW College Way, Bend, OR 97703
The dinner is $25/per person to cover the cost of the venue. Please register and pay in advance below - space is limited to 40 people!
If you’d like to buy the book (not required to participate!) we recommend ordering from Roundabout Books - you can do so on their website or by giving them a call!
