Bend August Dinner Party: "Cannelle et Vanille"
Join us for our Bend August Dinner Party hosted by Flights Wine Bar! We will be cooking from Seattle author Aran Goyoaga’s cookbook, “Cannelle et Vanille: Nourishing, Gluten-Free Recipes for Every Meal and Mood”!
Aran Goyoaga grew up in her grandparent's pastry shop in the Basque country of Spain - living a life defined by flour, butter, and deliciousness. She moved to the U.S. when she was 24, went to culinary school, and continued on her parent's legacy of baking. After her family started having health issues, they discovered a family intolerance to gluten - turning their lives upside down. Aran brought her family's legacy of baking to her new normal, transforming recipes that she had made her whole life to ones that could be enjoyed by anyone. Her first cookbook, "Cannelle et Vanille: Nourishing, Gluten-Free Recipes for Every Meal and Mood", is her debut cookbook in 2019 and is focused on how to bring more joy, mindfulness and connection to the kitchen through meals for family and friends. Aran is especially known for her gluten-free baking - and the book includes recipes for her sourdough bread, caramelized onion and fennel biscuits, and apple tarte tatin.
How Jill’s Cookbook Club Dinner Party Works:
Step #1: Pick a Recipe! You don’t need to buy the book to participate. First dibs on recipes goes to folks that come to the Planning Happy Hour, where there will be several copies of the book to select your recipe. After the Planning Happy Hour, the “Dinner Menu” will be emailed out to everyone who has registered for the dinner - and it will have links to available recipes and a sign-up sheet for you to select the one that calls to you!
Step #2: Come to the Dinner! You do not need to bring silverware or plates - just bring your dish as-written and whatever utensil you need to serve it!
Step #3: Have FUN and enjoy a truly absurd amount of delicious food while hanging with fellow food lovers! Beverages (including amazing wine) will be available for purchase.
When: Sunday August 18th, 6 - 8pm
Where: Flights Wine Bar, 1444 NW College Way, Bend, OR 97703
The dinner is $25/per person to cover the cost of the venue. Please register and pay in advance below - space is limited to 40 people!
If you’d like to buy the book (not required to participate!) we recommend ordering from Roundabout Books - you can do so on their website or by giving them a call!
