August Dinner Party: The Cook You Want To Be
Join us for our August Dinner Party, where we will be cooking from the wonderfully creative Andy Baraghani’s first cookbook, The Cook You Want To Be!
When: August 23rd, 6 - 8pm
Where: Open Space Studios, 220 NE Lafayette Ave, Bend, OR 97701
We will be hosted by Open Space Studios. You do not need to bring silverware or plates - just bring your dish and whatever utensil you need to serve it! The dinner is $25/per person to cover the costs of the space and supplies. Please register and pay in advance below!
If you don't have the book, join us for our planning happy hour from 4:30 - 6pm on August 15th at Waypoint BBC in the Grove (with our favorite bartender Dane!) to pick out a recipe to make. Otherwise email me at jill@thecookbookclub.net for some recipe options!
About the Book:
Andy Baraghani peeled hundreds of onions at Chez Panisse as a teenage intern, honed his perfectly balanced salad–making skills at Estela in New York, and developed recipes in the test kitchens of Saveur, Tasting Table, and Bon Appétit. It took him all those years to figure out the cook he wanted to be: a cook who is true to his Persian heritage, a fresh-vegetable lover, a citrus superfan, and an always-hungry world traveler. In The Cook You Want to Be, Baraghani shows home cooks on how to hone their own cooking styles by teaching the techniques and unexpected flavor combinations that maximize flavor in minimal time.
